The Solar Building Company Plans 49MW Solar Farm in Anglesey
July 25, 2014 - The Solar Building Company (SBC) in partnership with Mere Environmental is seeking to obtain planning permission for a 49MW solar farm on Anglesey. This will be split between 4 separate areas of land located around Llanfihangel yn Nhowyn. The investment into the project will be in the region of £55M and will be operated under the new CfD (Contracts for Difference) support mechanism. -

July 25, 2014 - Solar Frontier and the town of Hiraizumi have agreed to build a 13MW CIS megasolar ("utility-scale") power plant. Hiraizumi, located in Iwate Prefecture in north-eastern Japan. The new megasolar plant will be located in Kagonezawa District of Hiraizumi on 30 hectares of land designated for commercial use. -

July 25, 2014 - SolarReserve today announced that it signed a supply contract for its 20MW Acajutla PV solar power project in El Salvador as part of a highly competitive tender solicitation by the local electric distribution companies. The tender was administered by Distribuidora de Electricidad del Sur ("DELSUR"), and was overseen by El Salvador's Electricity and Telecommunications regulatory body Superintendencia General de Electricidad y Telecomunicaciones ("SIGET"). -

Saft to Provide Li-ion Battery Energy Storage System for 12MW PV plant in Hawaii
July 23, 2014 – Saft has been awarded by Kauai Island Utility Co-operative (KIUC) to provide a Li-ion Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) to stabilize the Kauai island electrical grid. Saft's BESS will be deployed for use as part of a new 12MW solar energy park under construction in Anahola.
