Suniva Announces U.S. Module Manufacturing Expansion
July 22, 2014 – Suniva, Inc. announces today that it is opening a second U.S. manufacturing facility, to be located in Saginaw Township, Michigan. Construction will begin in August, with production in the 4th Quarter of 2014 and will provide up to 200MW of additional capacity of its highly-regarded American-made modules.

SPI Solar to Sell 50MW and to Build 21MW Solar Power Project in China
July 22, 2014 - SPI Solar today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Xinyu Xinwei New Energy Co., Ltd., has entered into two new PV project-related agreements. The first agreement calls for the sale and transfer of a 50MW project in Fenyi County, China. This project has now been sold to Xinyu Zhongzhi Guoxiang New Energy Electric Power Investment Development Co., Ltd., and Xinwei will continue to build and develop the project toward completion as planned.

SNWA Signs Power Purchase Agreement with SunEdison
July 22, 2014 - SunEdison, Inc. today announced that it has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA). The power purchase agreement enables SNWA to lock in a significant portion of its energy costs at a fixed rate, providing an effective hedge against future increases. As part of the agreement, SunEdison will develop, construct, own and operate a 14MW AC solar PV power plant, located in Clark County, Nevada.

ReneSola Signs Framework Agreement with China Seven Star to Sell PV Projects
July 21, 2014 - ReneSola Ltd today announced it has entered a framework agreement with China Seven Star Holdings Limited regarding a partnership in potential sales to China Seven Star of no less than 200MW of existing and new PV projects within 18 months. The parties subsequently signed a Memorandum of Understanding which stipulates that ReneSola will sell to China Seven Star two utility-scale projects, both of which are completed and connected to the grid, with a total capacity of 9.7MW in Bulgaria.

NRG Energy to Acquire 4MW Public Solar Facility in the U.S. Virgin Islands
July 21, 2014 - NRG Energy, Inc. today announced the acquisition of the 4MW Spanish Town Estate Solar project on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands from Toshiba International Corporation. Once completed, the power will be sold to the U.S. Virgin Island Water and Power Authority under a 25-year power purchase agreement. The project also is expected to help the USVI achieve their renewable energy goals to reduce its fossil fuel based energy consumption by 60 percent over the next 10 years.

BYD Plan to Construct a Solar Module Factory in Brazil
July 15, 2014 - The city of Campinas has been selected as the home to the BYD's newest factory - creating 450 new local jobs. Executives from Campinas City Hall and BYD Company Ltd. this week announced the opening of the company's first South American manufacturing facility. The factory is slated to open in 2015. "In the first year of operation, the plant will have a maximum production capacity of 1,000 electric buses as well as all of their batteries," said BYD Brazil's General Manager Tyler Li. "This is the first stage of manufacturing expansion."

ITOCHU to Build 44.8MW Solar Power Plant in Japan
July 15, 2014 - ITOCHU Corporation announced today that it will construct a 44.8MW solar power plant and engage in a power generation business on 460,000 square meters of land on the premises of Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Oita Works in Oita, Oita Prefecture, through an operating company jointly established with Kyudenko Corporation and Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Today, the operating company concluded a loan agreement concerning the project with a syndicate of banks organized by Mizuho Bank, Ltd.
