    EDF Renewable Energy Announces Operation of 5.86MW Lancaster Solar Project

    July 1, 2014 - EDF Renewable Energy today announced that the 5.86MW Lancaster Solar Project has reached commercial operation. EDF Renewable Energy and Urban Green Technologies LLC signed the Membership interest Purchase and Sale Agreement in October 2013 and subsequently started the construction phase in December 2013.

The production systems and the process technology will be shipped to Xian to Chinese customer Shaanxi Non-ferrous Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd. from October 2014.

    TerniEnergia to Sell Its PV Assets in Italy

    June 30, 2014 - TerniEnergia SpA has signed agreements for the sale to Ranalli Immobiliare Srl of the 45% of the share capital of the JV SolTarenti Srl, owner of four utility scale PV plants for an installed capacity of 3.3MW, and the sale of 50% of the share capital of DT Srl, owner of a utility scale PV plant for an installed capacity of about 1MW.

    AGC Solar Shuts Down Solar Glass Factory in Belgium

    June 27, 2014 - AGC Solar announces that the AGC Group has decided to terminate the production of photovoltaic cover glass (patterned glass) at the Roux plant and shut down the plant. The decision was made under the local law on June 26 following due information and consultation with the Works Council and the union organizations which started February 10, 2014.

    Mitsubishi Corporation Participates in Shams Ma'an PV Project in Jordan

    June 26, 2014 - Mitsubishi Corporation is pleased to announce its participation in the largest solar photovoltaic project in Jordan, Shams Ma'an. The project will be operated by three companies: MC's 100% subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe, Ltd., Nebras Power Q.S.C. and Kawar Group. Equity share will be DGE 35%, Nebras 35% and Kawar 30%. Operations are scheduled to start in early 2016.

    IdeemaTec Concludes Delivery of SafeTrack Horizon Tracking System for 8.5MW PV Project in Rwanda

    June 30, 2014 - East Africa's first megawatt class photovoltaic project will be equipped with horizontal single axis tracking systems by IdeemaTec Deutschland. At the site very close to the equator, the solar power plant with the safeTrack Horizon is forecast to increase the total power generation capacity of Rwanda by 8%.

    SunEdison, IDB, OPIC and CorpBanca Close US$ 190 Million Solar Project Financing

    June 27, 2014 - SunEdison today announced the closing of a US$ 155 million non-recourse debt financing arrangement with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), the U.S. Government's development finance institution, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the largest multilateral lender to Latin America and the Caribbean, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), a multinational fund whose resources are channeled by IDB to support investments aimed at having a transformational impact in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and CorpBanca, one of the most important Chilean commercial banks. The debt proceeds will be used in Chile for the construction of a 72.8MWp (megawatt) solar power plant, to inject energy directly into the Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande (SING), selling all its production in the spot market (merchant solar).
