Clenergy Commences Operation of Solar EPC Business in China Through Its New Subsidiary
Sept. 10, 2013 - Clenergy recently announced the establishment of Clenergy (Xiamen) Energy Engineering Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clenergy. Sept. 9, 2013 - Scatec Solar had its 75MW solar PV plant, Kalkbult, in the Northern Cape region connected to the regional grid Friday, three months ahead of schedule, making the power plant the first REIPPPP project to be grid connected and operational in South Africa. Scatec Solar was awarded the Kalkbult project under the first round of the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Program (REIPPPP). Immediately after the financial close was reached in November last year, the company commenced construction of the plant which consists of more than 312,000 solar panels mounted on 156KM of substructure, inverters, transformers and a HV sub-station. The power from the now grid-connected PV plant will be sold through a 20 year Power Purchase Agreement with Eskom. -

Sept. 9, 2013 - First Solar and Belectric today announced the launch of a Joint Venture (JV) that will realize solar energy projects on three continents. The JV - PV Projects GmbH & Co. KG - is based in Germany and will be tasked with developing selected photovoltaic (PV) power projects independently acquired or developed by either of the two companies in Europe, North Africa, as well as projects of fewer than 20 megawatts (MW), in the United States. -

SolarWorld Appeals Two Trade-case Findings to Court of International Trade in New York
Sept. 5, 2013 - SolarWorld has submitted arguments to appeal U.S. Department of Commerce determinations that the company believes weakened resulting trade remedies. In particular, SolarWorld argues that numerous Chinese solar producers failed to show they were free of Chinese government control and that Commerce wrongly undervalued aluminum frames used in Chinese solar-panel production, significantly understating antidumping duties. -

Sept. 4, 2013 - An agricultural site housing a solar park located near Hardingham, Norfolk and constructed and developed by Solarcentury has been acquired by Bluefield Solar Income Fund Limited for £17 million. For an initial period, Solarcentury will be responsible for the parks operations, and in a separate agreement will oversee the ongoing operation and maintenance of the park.
